Aquatorium - re-release on the way . . . .
By Steven McCabe on 27/01/2008

I'm pleased to finally report that the long-awaited re-release of our 78 minute CD of demos, rare tracks and unreleased songs Aquatorium will be available in the store and at Proximity Records in around 4 weeks time, if not before.

The CD sold out within 2 months of being originally released, so this re-release has been a long time coming. To listen to tracks go here and read more about it go here!

Colossus Review and Advert
By Steven McCabe on 12/01/2008

Colossus Magazine, based in Finland, have just published their latest Issue. It is number 33, priced at 10Euros and is available now.

We mention it because, apart from being one of the most professionally produced magazines out there, it features a full page Proximity Records advert as well as a review, yet to be translated, of our superb new Too Many Goodbyes CD

Happy New Year
By Steven McCabe on 04/01/2008

Welcome to 2008 and my first blog post of the year!

The news from the front is that the latest newsletter to subscribers was sent out last night, so I hope you are all enjoyng it. The much promised on-line archiving of said newsletters is still some way off, though, but it will happen eventually!

Things to look forward to this year include:

  • the re-release of Aquatorium, the long out of print collection of rare tracks, demos and unreleased stuff. Expect this early February
  • the full version of our download shop at www.proximityrecords.co.uk to include some exclusive downloads both for free and purchase
  • our 20th full-length album (way later this year!)
  • a new skin for this web-site< ...

Last entry of the year . . .
By Steven McCabe on 31/12/2007

Well, here we are: it's New Year's Eve and this blog entry will be the last of 2007. I only wish I had something to say!

Round about now, folks tend to look back on the year with either regret or thanks for getting through it. Not sure which camp I fall into, though I am eternally thankful for becoming a father for the first time. Would be nice to get some sleep though!

This year has seen our new CD Too Many Goodbyes hit the shelves and download stores as well as a complete re-launch of our sister site at Proximity Records. I more or less managed (for the first time) to send out a newsletter to the mailing list every month (gotta be a first!) as well as write a healthy batch of new material for the projected next album ..

Due to the fact that I spend more time being a businessman as opposed to a m ...

Elegant Simplicity across the UK!
By Steven McCabe on 01/12/2007

We are pleased to reveal that we have a track on the latest PowerPlay magazine (issue 94, Dec 07/Jan 08) -  quite possibly the UKs best Rock & Metal magazine. The track is a slightly edited Mood # 10, taken from the latest CD Too Many Goodbyes. As well as the song, there is a photo of yours truly that is truly awful! Never mind.

PowerPlay is available in just about all the UKs newsagents as well as HMV Records etc, so this a great deal of exposure for us to a whole new audience! Not sure what the listeners will make of our track, sat as it does amongst the hard rockin and metal likes of Gamma Ray, Helloween, Empire, Sieges Even etc. Hopefuly, we will acquire some new fans wanting something a little different. Only time will tell.

Teaser . . . . . .
By Steven McCabe on 15/11/2007

As hinted at in the last newsletter, there is a big surprise coming your way within the next few weeks. I still cannot say too much about it in case it all goes pear-shaped, but I am hoping it will do wonders to get the band better known: perhaps less underground and more peeking above the surface! Hopefully, I can confirm the details of this happy event shortly.

Other news is that I have sent a copy of the stupendous new CD to the UKs best rock radio station: I am, of course, referring to Planet Rock! Naturally, I addressed it to the venerable Rick Wakeman, as I reckon the new material would go down very well with his listeners!
